Reena Khanna runs a numerology practice, and by the time we started it was really four businesses sharing one audience: a public brand presence, paid courses delivered as video, a digital store, and the numerology readings themselves. Each had been handled separately. The brief was to make them one thing that a single person could run without calling anybody.
The result is one application with four faces. A content site, a course platform with protected video, a store, and a set of numerology tools that produce finished PDF reports for clients. Twenty-six database migrations and twenty-three server-side functions sit behind it, and the shape of that function list is the design decision worth explaining: every path that touches money and every path that touches media runs on the server. Orders are created server-side, payments are verified server-side, download links are issued server-side. The browser never holds a privileged key, because a key in a browser is a key that has been published.
Course video is served through signed playback URLs generated per request rather than from a public address, and client documents live in a private bucket behind a proxy that checks who is asking before it hands anything over. Reports render in the browser through a pinned PDF viewer — an unglamorous detail, but an unpinned one silently breaks the moment the library moves.
The store was added to a platform that already had paying course customers, which is the risky kind of change. It shipped behind a switch, so it could be turned on for real traffic without putting the course business in the blast radius. Recorded courses are resold there as products under a fixed validity period.
The numerology engine was the most unusual part of the work. Grid analysis, pyramid analysis and mobile-number analysis are a real discipline with real rules, and turning them into software meant modelling somebody else's expertise faithfully enough that she recognised the output as her own.
A full security and performance audit was run against the finished system and its findings driven to resolution rather than filed. Handover included written guides — payment webhook setup, a combinations reference, seed data — because a platform this size is only actually delivered when the person running it can run it.
